I like this book enough to finish it and give it a fairly good rating in my opinion. I thought the story line was good and held my interest through out and most of the characters,in my opinion, stuck with the reader and was easy to relate too... however I did feel that the heroine in this book was weak in her personality and makeup. Perhaps its just me, but I get tired of the main character being wimpy and pathetic just because she/he had a hard life... I think that should make them strong and independent. But apparently that is just me.Product details

Corny title, I know, but it is the truth. I plan to look up Lori Devoti and see what else she has and READ IT UP.
The book was good from start to finish and I read it in no time. I put it at the top of my to read pile as soon as I had read the first 10%, in front of books that have been there for months. It was action packed and I liked the go, go, go tempo. It was exactly what I look for in a vampire romance. There was angst, but not too much. There was mystery but not enough to get frustrating. There was two-timing and betrayal that made me wonder until the very end who could be trusted. There was magic but the book wasn't weighed down with the technicalities of it. I absolutely loved the two different settings, now and in the 1800's, and the author balanced the switching back and forth beautifully.
I found Lindsey believable and likable, though naive. Harry was smoking hot, mysterious, and driven by revenge. About his lack on honesty with Lindsey it fit. Yes, it could have cleared up things quickly and their relationship could have grown from the very beginning if he had just come clean, but what is the fun in that. A 'man' his age wouldn't have the same devotion to absolute truth that we do in this modern world. He protected her by keeping her in the dark. There's time for honesty later, when she doesn't have 5 or 10 vampires after her blood.
I want to read more about this world and these two. I hope there are more books in this series. Please, god of books, let there be more Vampire Hearts!

Lots of action and intrigue. I enjoyed this read a great deal. I loved the pace of the story and the way Lori retraced the history with the reader. I'm hoping for book two.
after reading this book I have also read other books by this writer. I do enjoy her stories.Very interested in reading any new books she has on the way also.
This is a good vampire story. The characters are well written. The plot is good, there are a few twists and turns. And a HEA.

I don't often go for angsty stories, but I was drawn to this title nevertheless. There's betrayal here, but also the kind of character introspection and suspense that keeps the pages turning. In my opinion, there are a couple of issues that keep this from being a 5-star-title, but overall I was happy with 'Trust Me' and will probably read this author again. That said, the bare bones of my review
Highs
Characters & Story I think this was a great example of world-building based on the strength of the characters. Harry was a great dark hero, strong, practical, and flawed. Seeing his point of view as well as the antagonist's through flashbacks gave another dimension to the betrayal and revenge that made up so much of the story. Brett was a poignant partner, critical and loyal. Lindsey was...well-meaning. But I'll get to her later. The supporting characters and their various machinations kept the story constantly off-center, which added to the suspense. Just when I thought the plot would go one way, something else came 'round the corner.
Lows
Lindsey Dear Lindsey. She talked the talk of a heroine, but often walked the walk of a damsel very much in distress. I found myself relishing that the plot was constantly moving and changing and wondering why Lindsey wasn't. She was curious and determined, but also naive. Whenever something challenged her, she either dismissed it or came to her own conclusions with little evidence. I would have liked to see her take hold of her life and challenge hero and villains alike. In her defense, she acknowledged some of her conclusion-jumping and some of her mistakes could have been avoided if Harry had just told her the truth. It may have been a hard sell, but after the first vampire attack, I think coming clean may have done some good.
Closure After eating all that sweet and spicy suspense, I felt that the end was the drop after a sugar high. Villains thwarted, truths exposed, hero and heroine reunited...and? Although I was happy that Lindsey could accept Harry and his nature, there should have been fallout concerning vampires, lies, and near-death experiences. An earful, some honesty, and a happily-ever-after with Brett at the bar. Just one more bite!
Bottom line I'd recommend this title to urban fantasy romance fans, despite the few issues I had. In a world full of books touting "vampire secrets", I can honestly say that this is one that kept me up well into the early morning hours.
All the supporting characters in this book were fascinating but the heroine was a bit naive for my taste. Loved the historical settings and backstory. I will likely read more in this series.
